If you mean what do I intend to do about it, the answer is nothing, since there's nothing I can do about it. But in a country like Malaysia, where political changes are so long overdue, I don't see any virtue in pursuing political stability. All you do that way is build up more pressure and make the inevitable instability worse. Japan is in much the same boat. All these last-minute deals and efforts to build consensus plans are just delaying what is inevitable and, IMO, necessary - the replacement of the LDP with an opposition that has the ideas and the energy to address the problems.

If instability is what it takes to remove the dinosaurs, why fight it? I've gotten to the point where I see every drop in the yen and the Nikkei as a positive development - it brings the day of change one step closer. Evolution functions best in times of stress, when the ill-adapted are shown up for what they are. If this crisis sweeps away some of the dinosaurs, in ten years we may remember it as a good thing.
