Hi, Richard!!

I would like to officially welcome you to the Feelings thread. You came at a weird time or something!! I'm surprised you dropped by at all, since everyone seems to be arguing about medieval Christimas food and philosophy. I guess you have just jumped in, and are having a rollicking good time, though, along with the other (not Motley) Fools here.

My condolences on your last year. I think you will find a lot of empathy. I know that my own 1996 was marred by a 79% decline in my portfolio. My broker is still hiding under his desk in the fetal position. I don't think any client at Prudential anywhere has ever had a worse year, but it wasn't really my broker's fault, since I wanted to pick my own stocks.

The year for me, aside from money, which isn't in the final analysis very important, was marked by approximately equal doses of despair and ecstasy. Ecstasy is exciting and wonderful!! I need more of it, and hope that 1997 will bring some. I'm sort of hooked on it now!! We all know about despair.

Best wishes for a happier new year for you, and welcome!!

Christine
