I do not understand the conflict you see in those two statements. My position is 1) The information that is given publicly is insufficient to calculate a per phone royalty. 2) I believe the reason they do not give more precise information is that there is a wide disparity between the royalty levels charged different licensees. Obviously they do not want to disclose this to be the case. 3) Some licensees may be paying the levels that have been suggested on this thread. My sources indicate that some of the larger suppliers with their own intellectual property are paying substantially lower net rates bringing the average royalty well below the numbers that are being quoted here.
