>>Has Castlewood announced Beta testing of the Orb?<<

Yes. Back in July. It was all over their web page, and they sent emails to those of us on their mailing list. Now, according to their web page and emails, Castlewood has now sent production Orb units to OEM's like Sanyo, who is building it into a VCR-type device that should be ready by Christmas.

Also announced from Castlewood is the general release of Orb to retail stores by November "before Comdex 98."

>>Is the Castlewood press release of shipping to OEMs meant to decieve ? Are they shipping evaluation units or volume for resale?<<

See above.

>>SNE's rise yesterday was Yen/Dollar related, nothing more. See today...<<

Are you so sure? Remember the rule of "Sell on the News." Sony announced a plethora of new innovative products that will be revealed at Comdex. Sony's booth should be one of the most active by a longshot. Sony's "Memory Stick" (direct competition to Flash Cards and Iomega's Vapor!), HiFD, DVD +RW, new Sony VAIO computers, and other products were all announced yesterday. It's amazing that Sony can continue to score profit after healthy profit and unveil whole lines of innovative products when their home country's economy is so far in the dumps.

Iomega is scoring losses in a HEALTHY American economy! How do you think Iomega is going to do in an American meltdown?
