What about a SCSI primary and an IDE KOT?
I like the idea. I think it will work but that does not mean it will. One needs to verify that the mobo bios has an option to select between IDE and SCSI. Most new mobo's have this option

Agreed. It should work but a little harder to setup and switch around. I had a system like this and OS/2 BM will boot Os's or either interface with ease. This may help normal use. I have my SCSI setup to boot off of CDR. I would have to change both System BIOS and SCSI BIOS settings to boot a SCSI HD. this may confuse some folks.

Shouldn't be a problem. I use Drive image all the time with NT.
using a Jaz Disk as the KOT Device.
