Reg, I like you idea but on a grander scale. Yes there are only so many stocks, but(unfortunately)I only have so much money. My intent when I saw this pup nose dive was to buy and try and double, but if what Max is saying is true, think of the possibilities. My investment management plan is simple... just make 5% per week on accumulated proceeds. If you figure 5%/wk on just 1000 for 3 yrs guess how much?
Millions. Now look at the value of a $1000 investment made 3 yrs ago and held... $800 on many stocks, more or less on others. Now take a look at the spreads on some of the tech stocks and NEWZ on a weekly basis... 10-20%. It's not as hard as you think. Just a matter of timing, and with all that technolgy and those indicators out there it's well within reach with a little research. Most of the time it happens in a couple of days... which means you're out of the market at least 50% of the time. Capital preservation, and accumulation, what more can you ask for? By the way, I totally agree with your assessment of NEWZ. It a great stock at a low price, but it's still an undiscovered small fry, and chances are that outside of an occassional spike here and there, it may take a relatively long time to make any real money unless there's an opportunity to play the spread. Ok, that having all been said I'm sure the MM's are going to screw things up like they always do. Sorry I was so long winded. |
