Sorry Ken, didn't mean to be a scold! It's just that in this market I think we all earn our few and far between victories no matter which way we buy/sell the trend. I DO tend to get on my soapbox every now and then.

I know what you mean by buy and hold being hard work. I wish it was still possible to do that safely. But times change, and markets change, and we either change our strategies (as I see you have done also) and thinking or we don't survive it. I've made more gains selectively shorting stocks over the last week than I have since last October on my longs (which I have slowly sold off so as not to be left with nothing - broke even basically.) I got hurt real bad last year just about this time, as did many others. I wish it wasn't this way, but it is.

Yeah - my 403b (Magellan) fund ought to be renamed "The Bosnia Bankrupt Fund" - I hear they're thinking about sending out old 1987 year end reports so as to make us think the last 11 years didn't happen.

Regards,

Prof
