I hope you're not implying that everyone who chooses not to post their full names are staying anonymous for evil purposes.

Just to make sure - I use the j_b moniker because it's short and easy to type, and because I find that a certain level of anonymity is preferable to having nasty phone calls start coming to me at home or work. My last name is unusual enough, that once you know the area I live in, it's easy to get my phone number. It's happened to me before, and I prefer to not have a repeat. People on bulletin boards can get pretty ugly, as I'm sure you've noticed.

For the record - j_b stands for j(ust) B(rad). People always used to ask me if my real name was Bradley or Bradford, and I started getting miffed and would tell them - neither one, it's just Brad. I did it with such vehemence that people started calling me just Brad, or JB.
