You must be reading all I post or have looked at my model portfolio. The names above are all among my favorites.
Viceroy is one excellent candidate because of their currernt drill program at Gualcamayo. The property returned excellent surface exploration results and hold the potential for a large discovery. If they prove gold down deep and get a large interception with good grades, the stock should soar no matter what gold does. Results are expected in 2-4 weeks.
Manatthan would be among my 3 favorites. But it is not a gold stock. ALthough it has an operating gold mine, it future depends on Tambo Grande a copper/zinc/silver deposit. If/whne they close this deal, look for much higher prices.
Mar-West (soon to be merged with Glamis) is a contender. GLG after the merger will be a very strong mid-tier with excellent properties and a lot of cash.
For the 3rd one, I hesitate between GEO, CBD and MFL. Cumberland is probably the one that could give us the biggest surprise. If their partner at Meliadine (Western Mining) comes up with new reserves in excess of 4.5M ounces, CBD has a good chance of becoming a takeover target. And if not, it will rise up on the news. GEO could surpise with the coming release of its feasibility study at Vueltas Del Rio.
And MFL is cheap based on ounces in the ground at Dolores.
The question is: what will gold do ? WHat if it goes down...
Then VOY and MAN are my prefered ones.
