Lula promises fierce oppostion to Cardoso São Paulo, 9 - The defeated candidate for Presidency Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) rejected the dialogue proposed by President Fernando Henrique Cardoso and promised to impose a fierce opposition during his second-term of office in Congress as well as in the streets. The left-wing leader called Cardoso a "liar" and "cynical" once again. "If he were to be inaugurated for the first time, we could concede him a truce of six months to one year", he said. Lula affirmed he had nothing to talk about with Cardoso. "He did not want to debate during the electoral campaign and he massacred the opposition", the leftist leader justified. (O Estado de S.
