Pierre, this seems to be up your alley. What do you think of Oracle and their idea of using the Internet to manage business systems like accounting from an Internet base? They seem to propose it for both small and large businesses. They have made an interesting series of moves to tie together remote users with Java, allow seamless connection between applications as well as remote and local platforms, massively active centrally managed systems, and specialized interfaces for hand held devices.
Is Oracle8i going to reshape the future?
Larry Ellison gave a key note speech at Internet World in New York. It's available on audio download, but it has a lot of wasted moments as they move through a demo that doesn't go too well. Still, it may be worth listening to.

One of the interesting things about Oracle8 is object orientation. This is clearly the most important thing going. Its going to drive function, pleasure of use, and stimulate a lot of need for new equipment.

By the way, no mention of Netscape. Didn't we use to see Oracle, Sun and Netscape as a trio linked in the battle against Microsoft's distributed domination?
