The launch of a big ad campaign targeting existing V2 owners who haven't upgraded to SLI is _not_ a let down. Going to SLI is a very cost effective way to improve your gaming experience and most Voodoo2 owners are unaware of its benefits. 3Dfx is _very_ excited about what it considers to be an industry-leading, groundbreaking advertising campaign. To them it is another sign that they are the industry leader and a "player." They have every right to be proud.

Will it work? Do _I_ like what I've seen so far? Those are different questions. I'm reserving judgement.

However, the idea that a new chip or board design would first come to light in the guise of a 3Dfx.com web-ad is ludicrous. I'm amazed that everyone discounts the "SST" rumor immediately, but is convinced that the 2-headed monkey represents (if I have the latest info correct):

quad-SLI-Banshess-on-a-4x-AGP-card-sold-directly-from-3Dfx-for-watching-stereo-DVD's-on-multiple-monitors-for-$99 ;)

Jeff, you're saying that it is disappointing that 3Dfx is pushing its top-of-the-line, highest margin products in new ways - I disagree.
