Paul,

Doesn't that sound a little UNDERWHELMING?

After all, Intel already stated that they will introduce their Katmai at 500 MHz in Q1 of next year - sounds like it will appear BEFORE the K7.

I find it interesting that the competition is ging to catch up with Intel. I think it was Yousef who said that the performance gap between Intel and AMD is increasing and will keep on increasing.

Corporate customers - workstations vendors and software vendors - will probably want to standardize on the best graphics and the K7 might not be COMPATIBLE.

The best graphics is just about the last thing on the minds of corporate buyers. Most corporate PCs have the cheapest graphics - Cirrus Logic or low end S3 chips.

I am not saying that corportations will not go with Katmai. If they do, it will be for other reasons than the best graphics. Mainly because of FUD.

Does the lack of Katmai COmpatibelity worry you at all, Maverick?

Exactly. FUD.

Joe
