..the moderates and liberals haven't woken up yet. Perhaps this November....
On Election Day, you mean? <Yawn.> What's to wake up for?
Yes, yes, I know...We have to get out there and vote for The Lesser Evil again....<Yawn.>
Boy, I have been voting for The Lesser Evil my whole adult life! I'd love to have the chance, just once, to vote for The Greater Good!
Another problem with voting for the Lesser Evil is that you can't be sure that it IS lesser. For example, let's take the issue that precipitated this discussion, the War on Drugs.
More drug offenders have been arrested and imprisoned under Clinton than under any preceding President, and the prison population as whole has practically doubled. As a result, under Clinton, the number of prisoners convicted for non-violent crimes in the prison population actually exceeds, for the first time in our history, the number of those convicted for violent crimes.
In short, here we have a case of a man who talks the moderate/liberal talk without walking the moderate/liberal walk.
In short, we have before us the glorious prospect of voting for yet another bunch of gutless wonders. <Yawn.>
