nls, i originally thought about selling strangles/combos, too.

But, I feel the even remote chance of a market crash plummeting through my naked put and not only wiping out my portfolio, but quadrupling my margin requirement is a double whammy I don't want to face. I feel safer selling naked calls for 2-3% per month in addition the return from my long portfolio. Plus it is somewhat of a "hedge".
