If you're going to provide a means of scripting then VBA makes sense on Windows. Windows doesn't have a scripting language. That was done deliberately by Microsoft to force users into their own standard: VB. It was a bad idea but after 10 years and gillions of dollars it does work and it is the standard under Windows. This is really meaningless from an investment point of view. ANYBODY with a Windows product can license VBA and integrate it with their products. You can buy Visual Basic, Visual C++ or Visual Squat from Microsoft and use it to create your own applications. In a broad sense, Corel has licensed a tool to expose their products to automation through Microsoft's Visual Basic language; that is, if you buy certain Corel products you can automate certain tasks using VB. It's not a partnership or an alliance anymore than having Corel's products run on top of Windows is a partnership or an alliance.
