Has anyone noticed that Tel-Save and Preview Travel, two companies whose deals helped launch AOL into the stratosphere are getting killed on those deals? Does that say anything about AOL's future revenue stream? Can you say throw money down a rat hole. AOL has thrived because the internet has been a hot concept and companies that did not deserve to exist (like the above two) were able to raise money and throw it at AOL. With their imminent failure, who can AOL rip off in the future? Only time will tell, but with the IPO pipeline grinding to a halt, companies might start to have to spend real money for the near worthless advertising they buy on AOL, as opposed to using the funny money they raise in stock offerings.
