I love it when market watchers shake there fingers and warn "the end is nigh". Reminds me of those "Heaven's Gate" cultists.

I don't eliminate the possibility of a large market crash. But, just as their are excesses when people are overly optimistic, many of the "doom and gloom" articles are overly pessimistic. Cripes - none of these people were even around in the 1920's which they love comparing the 1990's too. Get real - U.S. society in the 20's was still highly rural with a large dependence on agriculture with very basic transportation and communication systems. I can't even realistically fathom what society was like in 1929, and much as they want you to believe it, neither can the doomsayers.

A economic crash is possible, but my guess is that if it happens, it will likely be caused by something that nobody is even talking or thinking about right now.

And so, instead of obsessing and worrying about the end of the market economy as we know it, I prefer to get out in the Carolina blue sky and revel in living in the greatest country on earth.
