The Republican and Religious Right factions have been trying to get the White House back, and keep it. They have been doing this by a relentless attack on Clinton and an attack building against Gore. They have also been targeting Republican fund raising. They figure, if they can cut of the funding for the Democratic Party, which they have been somewhat successful at doing, they can make this country a one party system, and implement all kinds of religious restrictions on our freedoms.

So, the Democrats have stepped up their fund raising efforts by resorting to fundraising trips. But, that makes the Republican Party happy, because, the less Clinton can be an effective President, the more they like it.
