An increasing number of industry experts believe code division multiple access (CDMA) could become the Dominant world digital standard. If it passes global system for mobile communications-the current dominate digital standard-it could imply a potential compound annual growth rate of more than 75%, which could raise investor valuation expectations for Qualcomm to more than our target prices. We also forecast potential increases in our earnings numbers, because we believe the opportunity exists for the company's application-specific intergrated circuit chips to be incorporated into a major manufacturer's digital handset.
