From what I've been reading, ML has been lowering estimates on most companies and has turned very bearish, almost across the board.
Who cares about ML .... Piper Jaffray raised their estimates on INTC yesterday and look what happened:
Sat Oct 10 11:11am ET - U.S. Markets Closed. Symbol Last Trade Change Volume CPQ Oct 9 26 1/2 +2 7/16 +10.13% 17,585,500 DELL Oct 9 52 13/16 +4 3/8 +9.03% 53,373,600 INTC Oct 9 83 13/16 +5 3/8 +6.85% 21,818,600
INTC naturally went up, but compare the percentage gains between CPQ, DELL and INTC. The smart investors were listening and realized that if INTC was going to do better then their two biggest customers must be doing something right as well. INTC's biggest customer went up the most.
