I agree that it is disappointing that the Internal version of HiFD will not be available until January or so. This is because Teac will be making most if not all of the internal versions, and Teac needs a couple of extra weeks to re-tool manufacturing from making 1.44 floppies to HiFD drives.

What is lost amid all of the "HiFD Is Too Late!" is that Teac can pour vast amounts of drives into the hands of OEM's once the lines are up and running. Teac has MUCH more manufacturing capabilities than tiny little Iomega. Teac has the means of making more HiFD drives in half a year than Iomega has made Zip drives in its history. Teac reportedly makes 95 million floppy drives per year. Teac has the means. And we will see if Sony/Teac/Fuji has the will. If they do, Iomega is in for a very short life before bankruptcy.
