A Pearl from the Jewish Holidays to all Believers in Yeshua. Friday Oct. 9th. was the anniversary of the feast of Sukkot spoken of in John Chapter 7.
On the final day of Sukkot, a Jewish holiday in which all Jewish males were required to attend, the Jewish people would conduct a remembrance of God's provision of Water in the dessert during the wilderness wandering. The High Preist would take a pitcher of water mixed with wine (a symbol of the blood of Messiah) and would pour it on the SE corner of the Temple Court. During this ceremony the people would surround the Temple and cry out to God, Hosanah Rhaba, and would pray to God to send water to them for the upcoming year. It was during this ceremony that Yeshua stood up and addressed the crowd.
Jhn 7:37-8 In the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
A difficult moment to understand with out an understanding of Yeshua's Jewish culture. A wonderful Messianic claim and promise. Praise God for His Son.
