I'm totally in the dark about this stuff, but I did see this on the RMBS thread and thought it might add to your discussion: I've been back to school and boy does it make my head hurt to get all these new ideas crammed into it. I have been studying the disk cache manager for Windows NT. It lends itself well to work with the bursty mode nature of Rambus. When paired with the Intel processor cache to handle individual access requests I am starting to see why Intel has chosen Rambus to be the memory interface of choice, especially in the Windows NT environment.
