Ken: I sent an e-mail to SkyDSL asking about the time of release stateside, and a little more about the technology.

After receiving the magazine, this was one of those articles that required "yellow marker" all over the place.

I had no idea Bob Metcalfe was introduced to the idea by Norman Abramson.

One of the most intriguing things I found was the ability install SkyDSL out on the corporate roof (POP say in Hawaii), install a base module for 100k, then have the ability to serve all of India.

If the beta testing goes well in first qtr of 99, this technology like the article said could: "embark on rapid expansion both domestically and abroad, swallowing regional incumbents as they go".

Easier said than done, yes, but its exciting to try and envision.
