Dwight, I did not mean to imply that everyone who identifies with the Religious Right advocates stoning adulterers and heretics to death -- I said that SOME do. Perhaps it would have been better to say that a FEW do. At other times on this thread, I have tried to argue that it is wrong to assume that everyone on the Religious Right advocates the extreme views that frighten liberals/moderates. I am sorry if I did not make my point of view clear. As for the stoning of adulterers & heretics, I found that on a "Christian Reconstructionist" site. And I have a chilling quote from Pat Robertson, advocating the stoning of UFO enthusiasts. And so on. Perhaps I ought to post some of these quotes, so that you can understand what the libs/mods are frightened of, and so that you can reassure them that you do not share these extreme views! jbe P.S.
