To all:

I have been trying to follow the discussion regarding the convertible holders and shorting the stock. I seem to lack a basic understanding regarding why shorting the stock will cause the price to go down. I understand how the large holders can depress the price by selling into rallies. I also understand that a large short interest is a bad sign and can scare investors away, but I get the impression from the discussion you folks are talking about some other manner by which shorting keeps it low. Can someone help me regarding this?
