Jim, Briefing.com is well respected and they had been fairly neutral on the semiconductor stocks recently. Hopefully their comments will generate some positive interest for VLSI. Thanks for posting the story. I responded to a couple of posts on the Qualcomm thread this morning and was wondering if you can read them and help me understand some things. I'm still learning about VLSI's wireless business and sincerely appreciate all the help you have given me in the past. I have provided links to the pertinent posts below. While this looks like a lot to read, some of the posts are short and I think it's important for VLSI investors to sort these issues out. I would sincerely appreciate comments from you or others if you are interested in these issues. exchange2000.com Discusses future data transmission rates over cellular networks. The writer predicts that data transmission speeds will increase from today's 9.6 Kbits/sec to 14.4 Kbits/sec in 1999 to 48 Kbits/sec in 2001. exchange2000.com An Everen analyst commented wrt QCOM "We also forecast potential increases in our earnings numbers, because we believe the opportunity exists for the company's application-specific integrated circuit chips to be incorporated into a major manufacturer's digital handset." exchange2000.com wrt the Everen article, speculates that QCOM won designs from MOT or NOK.A exchange2000.com wrt the Everen article, speculates that the new customers could be MOT or ERICY exchange2000.com wrt the Everen article, speculates that the new customer is ERICY and says MOT already uses QCOM ASICs exchange2000.com My post in response to the aforementioned posts exchange2000.com Says he heard that NOK.A will use VLSI ASICs exchange2000.com My response to the NOK.A using VLSI ASICs post exchange2000.com Response to my post about the rumored ERICY/VLSI Internet communicator product exchange2000.com Response to my post about MOT using their own ASICs. If not, who do they buy from? 2. Did VLSI price their CDMA ASICs lower than their competitors? If so, do you think that they did this to build market share faster? 3. Do you know anything about NOK.A using VLSI ASICs? 4. Does QCOM buy from VLSI in some cases? If so, for which handsets and why? 5. Can you comment on W. Houston's conclusion concerning data transmission speeds in post number 16276? Thanks Jim.
