Gary,

For once I agree with you. I do not like 3Com at all and I do not see the synergies for Lucent in comparison to Xylan, Ascend, or Cabletron. 3Com is a commodity player in the perimeter of the network with a decent line of low-end switches. There are many better targets out there in my opinion.
