What we had in mind for a knee of the TSF/EMA combo (with cheeze) was to assign a maximum % above the EMA for the TSF...say 5% (it could be 3% but that hasn't been decided yet) yesterday that leads to a greater % separation today. This is the same format we use for the 13, 8, 8 xover/knee. The crossover is in there with the TSF value at a minimum % below the EMA yesterday followed by a today reading above the EMA.
That way a separate interpretation variable of a ROC can be avoided.
