here's a completely unquantified thought.

If I were somehow magically in control of the market &&
I were planning to crash it, I would do it right now.
The thinking here is that OCT put holders have probably
already been scared off and NOV put holder are waiting
for a better opportunity. Thus losses on OCT puts sold
could be minimized and more than made up for by selling
NOV puts later on.

I also have found that when everybody wants to short the
next rally, one of two things happen. Either the next
rally never comes so they're caught out, or the next rally
proves to be real so they're caught short.
