FZ. You asked me about where I read G. Gilder. I am an avid reader and fan of his and we are probably not the only ones. This summer Gilder started The Gilder Technology Report, a monthly essay as only Gilder can write. There are lots of graphs and tables to go along with the essay. The letter isn't cheap, but it's better than being left behind when things change so quickly. For those who want to enquire about it the phone number is 888-GTG-2727. He has never mentioned C-CUBE or its competitors since I began reading him, however I am beginning to think that CUBE potentially fits well with some of the broad themes he discusses. A set-top box, fully outfitted and developed with things frequently discussed here sounds more like a teleputer of the future than the NCs of SUNW or ORCL and at least will give PCs real competition for the eyeballs of the world at a good price. If he should ever do an essay on DVD I'll be sure to mention it without infringing on his letter.
