bl, you are totally correct re bipolar disorder and zyprexa. it is the same with pediatric applications of fluoexetine (prozac); docs can do what they want, and this is perfectly ok with the fda. the people selling lly on the news know little about pharmacology, even less about physicians' freedom to prescribe.

of course, the downside of this for us lly owners is that when the official fda approvals do come thru, the market will be expecting a huge increase in sales, which it might not get -- cause the drug was being prescribed before the approvals anyway.
