>>Everybody and his brother has turned bearish, talking gloom and doom, not just semi-perma bears like me, all the analysts I hear say they are raising cash levels - complete reverse of early July.<< bobby, this is bubble bearishness. a regression to mean valuations on the dow is much, much lower. mean valuations represent mean outlooks. even now we are WAY ABOVE mean level valuations in the dow. some stocks are really cheap. however, betting that they pop when the dow tanks isn't a good play, imho. so, why do i own lots of long positions? i don't sell low - even if we go lower. i also trust my analysis over the longer term. this is gonna be a real test, though.
