OTOT Pure bull Its the end of a long hot summer. A lone Dell bull apart from the herd, grazes idly on the last of the stunted dry buffalo grass. Daily raids by semi-starved bears have cut down several young calves who would have strengthened the herd next year. The bull moves toward an appealing clump of grass when his nostrils quiver, having caught the foul acrid smell of fresh bear spoor . His head comes up along with a gleaming six foot spread of Texas longhorns.
