Doug,
Any particular form of "cash" that you could recommend? Being poor, I have few dollars and a few marks and truly, I am in a state of great trouble in finding a safe haven here. King of Sweden bonds?
In your scenario, I think that we are all mostly loosers, perhaps some more slowly than others. Most troublesome in that scenario is the high level of debt that most have.
Perhaps a good strategy here is to get out of debt, have a barrel of beans, a barrel of corn, a barrel of rice and a barnful of hay for the cow to make manure for the garden. A few bags of gold and silver and a generator to run the computer and the house lights on special occasions!
Hopefully, a YK2 compliant computer--
Well, all in all, I am not yet that negative--perhaps close, but not quite there yet.
Gold will always buy beans and if beans are scarce, then it will take more gold to buy fewer beans. If there are no beans, then no amount of gold will buy any bean!
If there are no workers to buy the cars that General Motors produces, then General Motors will go broke!
Clinton fiddles with his defense while rome burns, and the congress is intent on burning Clinton!!
Meanwhile, the world economic situation crumbles as we speak!
Greenspan cannot save us even though he would try if he could.
Perhaps truth lies somewhere between the most dire and the euphoric, and I truly hope that it does!
Scared as hell, Jack!!--My post for the week |
