wasn't aware that they were ours to take back.

I think that what you are suggesting here is the socialization,
or in some way a government-imposed divestiture, of privately
owned properties. Correct me if I am mistaken about this, if
you would...

I think that either of these tactics would be too radical, especially
since IMO other evolving factors in the last mile will cause the
incumbents to want to make the pricing of these loops more attractive
over time. Maybe not next month, but give cable modems a little more
time to mature, and lets see what the ILECs do when some of the emerging
wireless services begin to prove in. Come back...
