Also, like you said he doesn't know or feel comfortable with tech. But a lot of us: a) Have a tech related degrees. b) Are willing to take on more risk than the safer Buffet investments. We take the risks because we believe in the products very strongly. So far in the last 6-7 years the strategy has been working pretty well with CSCO, MSFT, etc.. and it hasn't been just stock prices going up rapidly, but profits by these companies are consistenly very high.
