OK, Raven..Banshee..Awesome graphics but...

I spent five days debugging every game I had. All the glide stuff (Quake2, Rush, etc) worked great (after some sleuthing) in high res (at least 1024x768). Nothing d3d worked beyond the opening movies. I was just about to pack up the card and return it when I thought I would try one last thing. Many months ago I covered a pin on my 233MHz pentium II CPU and have been cranking along with a 100MHz bus and a chip speed of 300MHz with no problems.
As a last resort I turned the clock frequency back down to 66MHz and the CPU multiplier back to 233MHz.

BEHOLD, the vision of 3d acceleration. I wasted my friends in Banshee enhanced d3d Need for Speed, ran the Shogo demo, Tomb Raider and all other games.

Some of you may be thinking the moral of the story is to not overclock BUT I contend that we may be seeing a limit in Banshee. Sound familiar, TNT had to lower their frequency and we all cried fowl and called them lying bastards. Maybe this is the reason Banshee is not AGP 2X.

I am curious as to how many of you new Banshee owners are running a CPU frequency of 100MHz (not multiplied) or greater?

Tony (I'm happy for now but I still won't buy the stock till next year) Maza
