Hi Maurice:

Talking of chicken littles, while visiting a bookstore
this afternoon, I found that a blast from the past,
Ravi Batra has a new book out, entitled the ''Crash
of 98 and 99.'' Note that he has predicted the end
of capitalism by the year 2,000 and is running out of
time quickly. Among the prescriptions described in
his book are: a) replacement of payroll taxes by
sharply increased inports tariffs (!!!!!) and b) soaking
the rich.

As I figure it, the only way he will prove correct is if
politicians start applying his economic prescriptions.
Since Ravi B. has been such an outstanding contrarian
indicator in the past, I strongly suspect the worst may
now be over.
