'Mavericks'; and the Intel wafer on display in the Sunnyvale Fry's

Did anyone else see the wafer of Intel chips on display at the Sunnyvale Fry's?

The reason I bring it up, is that many of the little rectangles have a little black dot in the middle of them, but many do not. There is a visible crack on the wafer, and every little rectangle that the crack passes through has a black dot.

I was wondering if this is one of the wafers being discussed here; where black dots mean that chip failed.

I forgot how many had no dot, but it was quite a few, so if my theory is right we can get one data point suggesting Intel tossed at least one maverick wafer with quite a few chips that passed at least some test.

Anyone else seen it? Is my guess good?

Ron
