Eagle USA Expands International Presence in Asia And Europe

HOUSTON, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Eagle USA Airfreight, Inc. (Nasdaq: EUSA - news), today announced that it has strengthened its international presence by opening overseas terminals in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. Hong Kong represents Eagle's first terminal in Asia, while the location at London's Gatwick airport is Eagle's fourth terminal in the United Kingdom.

Eagle Freight Hong Kong, Ltd., Eagle's new Hong Kong subsidiary, will serve as a gateway for China and will provide comprehensive transportation and logistics services to markets all over the world. ''Because Hong Kong is a major center for many of our existing customers, we are delighted to establish an office that will optimize transportation solutions and allow our customers to compete more effectively in global markets,'' said Vittorio Favati, Executive Vice President of International.

Sam Chung has been named the Managing Director for Eagle Freight Hong Kong and has assembled a knowledgeable and experienced staff that will complement Eagle's existing transportation network. Chung, who has over thirty years of experience in the cargo industry, will utilize his worldwide transportation alliances and expertise in air and ocean freight forwarding to provide new options for our global customers.

Eagle International UK, Ltd. has expanded its network by opening a terminal at London's Gatwick airport to enhance service capabilities to and from this rapidly-growing strategic market. ''This new Gatwick location will provide obvious benefits for our UK customers and significantly improve service capabilities for our customers in North America and Asia with cargo destined for Europe, the Middle East and Africa,'' said Stephen Carattini, Vice President of Foreign Development. Eagle also operates terminals in Birmingham, Manchester and London -- Heathrow.
