Sort of BACK ON TOPIC***

A construction manager once told me that he would handle a concerned home owner in the following way.

If the home owner showed up while the construction workers were digging the hole or laying the foundation or during any time before the house was finished; the construction manager would ask him if there was something about the design or construction that should be corrected. Usually the owner would think of some item, like say, an extra light switch in the master bedroom. The manager would promise to take care of it. Each time the owner returned to the house during construction, the manager would walk him to the master bedroom area and point to the place he had in mind for the extra switch and they'd talk about it. It would be the LAST thing the manager would attend to prior to the owners moving in.

Why? The owner needed to feel the manager was attending to the owner's concerns. The construction manager told me that if he didn't handle owners in this way, the owner would want to look at how the plumbing was being installed and be able to make recommendations. They might not like the kitchen floor plan and want it modified. Actually, some of them would want to be included in all aspects of decision making for the new house. This, he said, is a construction managers worst night mare.

When I continually read the pathetic responses to concerns of the people on this thread about our leadership (Bill Clinton's to be specific); I get the feeling the agenda is like this construction managers. That is, keep focused on the "good economy" and the "abortion issue." When/if we look past these issues, most people see that Bill is insignificant, and he is like an ancor to this nation. We are living in the most rapidly changing and adapting society/global community that has ever existed. We can't deal with it as long as this wounded President is at the helm.

Clinton's worst nightmare
