Bingo! IMF and US are playing such bitch roles for Koreans, all
Koreans hate IMF & US more than ever. But they are really humble
folks, they only blame themselves for the mess - "It' our fault, it's our
fault, we pushed our country into this mess......" IMF can't give
any money to these Chabols, but IMF knows some end up falling into
their hands. So IMF wants to crush Jaibols as much as they can, imho.

HD & LG asked for debt forgiveness as late as last week again, but they
won't get it any time soon because credit banks and government are
not done evaluating both companies debt yet. There are about 40 subs
still under investigation out of 250 subs for fraud. So debt forgiveness
won't happen till Dec 98 if any.

HD & LG's real issue is management ratio btn two companies.
Koreans're so royal to their boss and the boss is like a parent to
kids in return, both management fear that majority management will
let go of minority team eventually. It's like life or death situation
for them. That's why it's so hard for LG to take even 1% less.

Korean economy is too advanced to have managed system now,
imo. It worked well in 60s and 70s. But will it work again?

ps: There's rumor that Japanese lenders are giving more loans
to Koreans than US.
