Subject: Goals of the CIMA Fund Trip Date: October 10, 1998 2:16 PM
As requested, I'm putting a few words down on paper to describe what I believe the goals of the Trip are and what the expectations likely will be:
- the trip was designed to document the story surrounding Golden Eagle in Bolivia. Sun River, as the new host, will now have it's story documented as well. It is not supposed to verify the amount of gold in the ground or the economics of a mine in either case.
- it should, as effectively as possible, bring the story alive to contributing shareholders through pictures, video and a written journal.
- footage of meetings, comments from locals, the press, government officials and coop members in whatever settings (bars, the jungle, offices, etc.) are welcome in whatever language. It is all part of making the story real.
- there are two companies that will be documented to shareholders. Each company should be treated separately. It is a sensitive area. Professional ethics and personal integrity should be employed in the gathering and delivery of information. No Sun River employees should be present when gathering info on GE in formal meetings and vice versa. This process should be kept clean to a fault. Informal DD can't be controlled in this manner but the sources of any comments (formal or informal) should always be carefully noted.
That's about all I can think of at this time. Have a safe journey and enjoy this adventure of a lifetime. This is what life is all about, experiencing first hand what most of us would only read about in novels, annual reports, National Geographic or see on TV. Wish I was there with you physically but I will be there with you spiritually. |
