I'm beginning to worry about CPQ. Greenberg has better sources than I do, and he digs for information a lot harder than posters on this thread. I've followed him for years at the SF Chronicle and found him to be quite honest, if not always right. Contrary to what I see posted, he does not take positions in stocks. Hence he's not a shill like so many here.

My concern is that while CPQ no longer looks like a screwdriver shop, I'm not sure that it is growing into a reliable solutions company. I had thought that their merger with Tandem was going well, but I don't see any of the Tandem clustering technology - Wolf Pack, etc. reaching market in a CPQ box. Which all goes to make me wonder if they could be blowing their DEC deal.

Does anyone have any independent information? Or is this all about tape trading and how Greenberg comes across on TV?
