If Dell looked a good stock in mid-July then in the absence of bad company news it is still a good stock regardless of recent market events. In the mid-long term Dell will continue to be a great stock but we can't expect it to be able to resist the kind of southward movements seen in recent weeks. Day trading seems more common in the US than over here in the UK. Here smaller investors tend to try to choose good companies and hold on to them for at least 5 years. I have Dell, Cisco, Microsoft and Pixar and am prepared to hold for 5 years. I am pretty confident that I won't be disappointed. Anyone want to predict the Dell price for 12th October 2003?!!
