Microchip Technology Announces Change in Date/Time of Earnings Release

CHANDLER, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 12, 1998--Microchip Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MCHP), one of the world's leading microcontroller suppliers, Monday announced that it is moving forward its announcement date for the 2nd fiscal Quarter ended 9/30/98 to Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998 before the market open.

The analyst conference call is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
