I believe in being maximally nice to people where it will get them and myself the greatest mutual benefit. Charity is not the way. Better you should ask the starving man, "how did you get this way". When he replies " I was set upon by thieves and beaten and robbed" you may reply, "hie to a map seller and better chart your next course to avoid such thieves." It is always their fault. Haven't you ever asked for sympathy? Don't you always get a lecture? Well? Is it not true? Are men not the architects of their own misfortune? Should we reward stupidity? Let them eat cake. EC<:-}
