I'd say those speaking with confidence about such matters ought perhaps to examine their beliefs. It's hard to be confident about what you don't know for sure, and none of us really knows. We know our own opinion, that's all. An opinion on such matters is pompous, the conviction that your opinion is correct is pretentious. There is always the possibility that the other guy - hopefully not Emile - is right.
